This a reproduction of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec’s 1882 masterpiece, “Le Jeune Routy a Celeyran” or “The Young Routy at Celeyran” in English. This is one of Toulouse-Lautrec’s earliest paintings and portrays a young workman at the artist’s mother’s estate at Celeyran. He was brought back to his birthplace of Albi from Paris when he was eleven to treat a growing list of congenital conditions. At 13 and 14 respectively his legs were broken and they did not heal correctly or grow further. Restricted from many activities by his unusual lack of height, Toulouse-Lautrec dedicated himself to his art and become one of the most recognizable artists of the late Nineteenth Century. He die don September 9, 1901. This masterpiece is currently at the Musee Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi, France.
