American / Caperton / Contemporary / Italian / Paintings (Reproductions) - 1 year ago - troycapc
This is a reproduction of “Faccia di Fronte a Firenze” of 2010, an attempt to portray the profile of Giovanni de’ Medici looking out over his city from the newly constructed Dome of the basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore. The year intended is 1448 when the dome was twelve years old and Giovanni was on the verge of being sent to Ferrara to direct a branch of the family’s banking business.
