Terlingua Sunset, Anonymous, 2009
American / Contemporary / Landscape / Paintings (Reproductions) - 1 year ago - troycapc
This is a reproduction of “Terlingua Sunset” of 2009 by Anonymous. Terlingua was a Cinnabar mining town before Big Bend Park was established. Now, best known for its complete isolation and its Chili Cook-off, it is a small, eclectic colony in the low desert surrounded by parks and mountains and great sunsets. Sunset over Mormon Lake, Original Print, 2009
American / Contemporary / Inspirational prints / Landscape - 1 year ago - troycapc
Mormon Lake is a beautiful natural area southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona. We were told we must visit it at sunset to watch the herds of Elk come from the woods to the water. We found a hillside east of the lake as the afternoon ended, and we were amazed by the flocks of large birds around the lake waters. But we could not identify them. Then, we realized that they were not birds, but the Elk we had come to see. We were too far away and, with even our best binoculars, could not see them at all clearly. It was very frustrating and disappointing. And then the sunset began. We could see no details, but we could see the whole lake and mountains. This is my favorite image of a beautiful sunset over this lovely lake in northern Arizona. There are hundreds of Elk in the photo, but none that can be seen. Original photograph by Dennis Ciscel, presented with his cooperation and permission.
